communication with our Directors at Hongkong Board on the subject; telegraphic during the past few days, and that I have today received a despatch authorizing me to accept the terms laid down by the Treasury, and further that I undertake to lodge satisfactory securities for the required amount with the Government of Hongkong within a reasonable time.
I shall therefore be glad to learn that Lord Hartford has telegraphed to the Governor of Hongkong to introduce the amending Ordinance in question.
