It is stated in the Despatch and Estimates accompanying the letter under reply that the value of the land in front of the War Department property, which would be reclaimed by the formation of the Praya, would amount to $1,325,826; and that the War Department would thus gain by the transaction a net profit of $1,005,826 or land valued at that amount.
