There is no mention in the Praya papers of purelease of the W.O. Land by the Colony beyond that in par. 14 of 3473/89 that only to the extent of $263,700. We asked the W.O. if they would sell at the same rate.
Answer. Some refers to all our harbour Barrack sites that have land sold up.
In par. 10 of the same paper there is a proposal of the W.O. to sell in the open market only a very rough and intended to be an extreme estimate of the value of the waters front Barracks & site.
It appears to me that if the W.O. would make up their minds about the Praya Scheme, a great deal of difficulty might be removed as they will under that scheme benefit by 453,700 square feet of new land of an estimated value of $1,325,856.

Surplus lands to the amount of about $1,000,000 which would be about £140,000. But I think this amount would include more than the value of the worth Barracks which (according to 578/84) only 156,585 square feet and it is worth only about half of £140,000.
