transferred to the- Registrar General Office

Inspector under the Contagious
Diseases Ordinance a
year-
afterwards, being then a Corporal. The latter was _
sworn in as a
· private. Constable on the 18th of September 1871 and was at once attached to the Registrar
General's
General's Department.
It is evident that

these men cannot return to Police duty, and as the officers employed
in
carrying
out the provisions of Ordinance
19 of 1889 must be under the direct control of
the
Registrar General, it is proposed
to allow Inspectors
Lee and Horton to retire on
pension from the Police, and to re-engage
on the
staff of the Registrar General's
Department
