Sir,
I beg to tender you шv resignation of
the post of Assistant Master in the College.
When I came out i thought there would be
prospects of promotion. These, find, are practically
nil.
▲ could not think, therefore, of remainning perma-
nently in the Colony. Any prolonged ausence from England
would impair my chances of getting suitable emplovment on
my return, so I think it to my best interests to resign
at once.
I may add that I have found the climate verv
trying to my health.
With respect to length of notice I would put
wy self at your convenience, provided any one of the
following dates be chosen for the termination of such
notice: -
November 23гu., peccmoer 21st. 1889; January 18th.,
February
15tu, 1890.
I would, in conclusion, express my sense of
the courtesy and kindness which you have shown me since
my arrival.
