I have, as you know, been in the Service of

the Hong Kong _ment for twelve years, having

entered the Registrar. Reveral's Office as Second Clerk on the 6th Jannerch 1975. During this period. I have, I believe, given satisfaction to the gentlemen who have at different times A presided over the Department, When the late First Clerk, W. John Sperrard, resigned his

appointment, I naturally looked for promotion

in the office, but owing to changes made in the personnel of the Department Twas disappointed. During Sir John Pope. Hennessy's administration I thoire filled the position of Private Secretary and also for a considerable time performed the duties of Sheriff & Coroner. the illness of those offices.
