Report of the 12th instant is herewith enclosed,
I am to request that Their Lordships may be favoured with an expression of Secretary Sir Henry Holland's opinion on the matter, with special reference to the points raised by Mr Fremantle.
My Lords have reason to believe that the Yen was, some 3 years since, not accepted in China except at Amoy and Foochow. Perhaps the Secretary of State may have some information on this point.
