Gentlemen,

I have duly received your letter of the 20th inst with the month's accounts of expenditure Enclosed.

The work at the Lukout Wood as under-

The completion of the Tunnel will practically enable the works to be completed by supplying water to Victoria.

and the reservoir has been filled to a depth of 90 Feet and found to be practically water-tight.

The additional depth of up to 114 feet will not affect the stability or lightness of the reservoir.

Junnel may be opened in September.

As the Reservoir may be spent this year, I know that the Governor's Surveyor will press on all that is possible to do.
