If within the said three years after your arrival in the Colony it is established to the satisfaction of the Government that you are not qualified for efficient service there, it is to be understood that the Government, subject to the confirmation of the Secretary of State, has full power to cancel your appointment without any further compensation than a passage back to England, which will be granted only upon the report of the Governor that you have, by your good conduct, deserved it.
It will be necessary for you to express your acceptance of this condition before your appointment can be completed.
It is, of course, to be understood that your services will be available for any duties upon which the Governor, in the interests of the public service, may think it desirable to employ you, and that it will be within his discretion to station you in any part of the Colony where he may consider your presence will be most useful.
If you are prepared to accept the appointment now offered to you, it will be desirable that you should present yourself to Dr. Lowe (not "Gaga Lown") between then and ... for the purpose of being medically examined, who will transmit his certificate to this Department. Dr. Lowe's fee, which you will have to pay, will be one guinea.
If appointed, you will be entitled to half salary from the date of your embarkation from this country.
88 Sloane Street, London, S.W.
I am to request that you will inform me of the date at which you will be prepared to leave for the Colony, in order that the necessary communications may be made to the Governor and to the Crown Agents.
I am, &c.

"melically examined" has been corrected to "medically examined". 3. "Safe Brown's" has been corrected to "Dr. Lowe's" for consistency with the corrected name. 4. "quinca-" has been corrected to "guinea" as it is the standard fee unit mentioned in historical contexts. 5. "life to pay fec má" has been corrected to "have to pay" to make the sentence grammatically correct and sensible. 6. The formatting has been adjusted to follow the requested HTML format using `` tags. 7. Minor spacing and punctuation corrections have been made for clarity.
