Grants beyond the condition for Building Plots in section 29 of the Grant-in-Aid Scheme. In consequence thereof:

2. The school for which a Building Grant was asked could never be used for any other educational purpose, then only for a Girls School.

3. Not only the present Building, for which a Government Grant was asked, but also any other building which may afterwards be erected on that piece of ground for all the remainder of 999 years, had to be used for the same purpose.

4. There is no provision whatever, binding myself or myself at any future time to release ourselves from the obligation here undertaken in the case that the present Grant-in-Aid Scheme should be altered, or in any circumstances, which could make it desirable for us to close the School or to discontinue our connection with the Grant-in-Aid Scheme.

5. If the Government next is inclined to take these obligations into consideration and to modify the terms of the Declaration of Trust accordingly, I would be most thankful for the Grant, otherwise I would be obliged to withdraw my application.

Yours,

G. Renwoh
Manager of the Basel Mission School
