In reply to Your Excellency's letter of the 21st instant referring to the procedure in cases of Extradition of Chinese Criminals from this Colony

I have the honour to make the following observations.

Ordinance 2 of 1857 gave effect to the 9th Article of the Treaty of the Bogue, (Hertslett's Treaties Vol. VI p. 265) which stipulated that natives of China who had committed crimes or offences against their own country
