We might state that we, this afternoon, received a communication from Mr. Mitchell Jones to the effect that he is prepared to come to a decision upon the evidence already taken in this case, provided that it appears to him satisfactory and that the Counsel for the prosecution and defence agree to its being correct.

I have the honour, by direction of the Governor, to request you to be good enough to mention to the Viceroy that the recent difficulty in dealing with the Rendition Case is due to the fact that the Magistrate who was trying the case had his appointment revoked on the 9th instant. He is afraid that he will be blamed for the delay.

His Excellency may be glad if the Viceroy would therefore be informed that ...
