My attention has been drawn to the actions of the Magistrate in the rendition of Chung Sam alias Chan Yan and Fa.
A charge of perjury having been entered against Leying, one of the witnesses, the Deputy Magistrate last proposed to adjourn from week to week until the perjury case was concluded; on the morning of the 20th March the Magistrate (Mr. Wodehouse) stated that in the event of perjury being proved against the witness, Leung Yew, he would consider that it vitiated the whole of the evidence against the prisoners,
