Despatch from Her Majesty's Viceroy to St. B. M's Consul, Canton.

Canton, April 5th, 1887.
I have the honour to inform you that I have received a despatch from Colonel Li acknowledging the receipt of a despatch from you instructing him to procure evidence in the other charges against the three Tseng kuthi chian and others, and send the witnesses to Hongkong under charge of a warrant officer with the prisoners with a view to obtaining their rendition. In accordance with these instructions Colonel Li sent the witnesses to C. Alabaster, Esq., St. B. M. Consul, Canton.
