The Ordinance provides for the efficient drainage of private houses, it seeks to restrain overcrowding; before many months the town will be

sufficient supply of water, and gradually all those damp and dark basements, the backs of which abut against the hill-side, will, under the provisions

Clause 9 Sec. 3.-Strike out the words "the whole" after the words "the actual tenant or occupier of" and the words "of the whole," after the words "immediate landlord."

Sec. 5.-Leave out the words "The Governor shall appoint the President, Vice-President and Secretary of the Board and the names of all members appointed to the Board," for the purpose of inserting the words "The Board shall elect annually from their number the President and Vice-President, and shall appoint their own Secretary, and the names of all members elected to the Board."

Sec. 6.-After the words "six months," to leave out the words "The Governor may appoint," for the purpose of inserting the words "the Board may elect."
