I have the honour to acknowledge
receipt of your despatch C.S.O. no 1409 and, in reply to
state that the Company
do not require Mr Brewer's services as
the Company will have a permanent Resident Engineer.
Mr Brewer will only be required to make periodical inspections,
say fortnightly, of the Engines, Carriages, and line,
so that the Manager shall be satisfied that everything is working properly.
The Company propose to offer
remuneration to Mr Brewer for his services $40 per month.
