Enclosure 3.

Acting German Consul to Acting Colonial Secretary.

(64.) No. 507.

Sir,

I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter No. 1276 dated the 19th instant, referring to alleged native of Germany Marie Gausse. In reply, I beg to state that I shall not fail to make arrangement for the payment of the hospital expenses for the said Marie Gausse and sending her home, provided there is sufficient evidence for her being a German subject. A search of her effects will perhaps produce the necessary proof in the shape of passports or other documents.

I have to,

Signed A. F. von Möllendorff, Acting Consul for Germany.

The Honourable J. Stewart, C.M.G.,

Acting Colonial Secretary.

Hongkong, 21st September 1885.
