Hong Kong 7th July 1887.

In reply to your letter of yesterday's date I have the honor to inform you that in accordance with instructions from the Imperial Foreign Office, the proceeds of the opium referred to in your letter have been remitted to Berlin by my predecessor Mr. Frendel and subsequently confiscated by the Prussian Court at Hamburg, by a Decree of the port of registry of the German S.S. Aldecia.
