2. Sir Henry Holland has carefully considered the matter and is unable to direct that legal proceedings should be taken in error or otherwise with any object of placing you in possession of land on the Eastern boundary, a claim which the Supreme Court has found to belong to other persons; and he does not perceive that you are entitled to any compensation at the hands of Government in connection with your unsuccessful litigation and its consequences.
3. But if it is the fact that you are not in possession of so many Sq.ft. as specified in your lease, this deficiency would seem to Sir Henry Holland to afford ground for adjustment of premium or reduction of rent or in such other way as may be just; but it is a matter which goes to settle with the Colonial Office, to whom a copy of this letter will be sent.
