Mr Lucas. answer to our 25· Aag. on this sort of paper particulars we do not profess to check these allowances accurately; but as far as I can judge he would have done better to be retired under the ordinary regulations, than on them the salary, he was used as a Clerk (which was $1920 instead of $1200)
