The portion that I specially object to is the clivination of a portion of paragraph 5, which in my opinion leaves the context bald and incomplete. This appears to have been done on account of a minute in pencil in the margin "this is doubtful". The correction statement will be found confirmed by reference to 1452

The part of paragraph referred to by the Captain Superintendent of Police was struck out, because the accuracy of the statement is disputed by the Acting Attorney General, who has reported that "In order to support the second charge, a book purporting to be the Chinese text of such orders and regulations was furnished by the Police to the Crown Solicitor, and was taken by the defence before the Magistrate to its reception as evidence"
