You will be given free quarters for a single person.
You will be allowed a 1st class passage to the colony upon signing the usual agreement, and you will enjoy the same privileges with regard to leave of absence and pension as other members of the government service.
You will not be allowed to engage in private practice, and, in addition to taking charge of the hospital, you will be expected to give such help as may be required of you in the dock and small-pox hospitals, in medico-legal work, and in post-mortem examinations and in directing any other assistance that may be wanted.
You are requested to present yourself to the Medical Officer at your earliest convenience, paying him his fee of Guinea, and giving him one letter in accordance with the enclosed draft, and to report to this office at which you are expected to leave for the colony, if certified fit for service in the tropics.
