arrival in Hong.

Kong I have made, a special study of Chinese. I passed my

examinations in the usual course, and Lord himberly was pleased to express his patisfaction al my progress in the language. Since then II have continued my studies entirely at

my cost and in my private time with a view to qualifying myself for the post for which
