There is no ground for an appeal to the Austrian Government. The Cady was sent to Hospital by the Austrian Consulate on 31st March 1885 and was released on 15th April 1885, the Austrian Consulate paying the charges ($66.40), debiting from funds in their hand at the lady's credit.

The Austrian Consul does not appear to have been responsible for sending her back to the hospital on the said occasion and refuses to take the responsibility of paying the charge ($589.70) incurred from 29 March 1886 to 15 March 1887, but has offered to hand over to the Colonial Government a deposit receipt in his possession for $500 lodged in the lady's name in the Hongkong & Shanghai Bank.

I don't see that there is any claim against The Austrian Govt at all on 20/5.

I am unable to make out what this refers to. I do not see how any claim can be made to the Austrian Consulate in the matter.

I find this today under some books in my mission.
