by the operation of Ordinance No. 7 of 1885 which authorizes the transfer to the general revenue of the Colony of all sums which have remained unclaimed in the Treasury for five years.
From what I know of the working of the Registry
I believe there is very little if any chance of any of these being claimed. The Registrar parts with them only when he has given up all hope of being able to find the parties entitled thereto.
If the amount belonging to any
of any importance it would in virtue of Section 5 of the Ordinance
above quoted be invested in
one of the
Banks pending the expiry of the five years required by Section 4.
