He undertakes to pay as follows: cash $39,530, as bargain money, and $100,000 on the same date as the Government pays its first instalment of $175,787 to the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company: the balance of $200,000, in equal portions, on the dates of the instalments payable by Government to the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company.
Government is therefore to pay a sum of $358,787 and to give 6000 square feet, worth $47,000.
In all $395,787 for 56,541 square feet of ground acquired from the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company, of which amount it receives back $8,000 for materials. Of this ground, it retains 16,000 square feet for the extension of the Central Market and disposed of 40,541 square feet for the sum of $39,530.
