Stanhope's despatch which he assumes was purchased locally, Mr. Price informs him that it was part of a consignment received by the steamer "Gleneagles" in November 1884 from the Crown Agents for the Belcher's Bay reclamation works and subsequently transferred to the Tytam Works.

5. The directions conveyed by Colonel Stanley's telegram of 26th August, 1885, are adhered to as far as may be as a general rule, as gathered from the large orders sent home for cement at different times. Occasionally it happens that the stock runs short due to unforeseen works requiring the use of cement or from other causes equally unforeseen, such as extraordinarily low tides permitting an unusually large amount of foundation work being carried on in the sea-wall.
