I now have the honour to forward a report from the Surveyor-General in reply to the criticisms of the Inspecting Engineer. Enclosure

The Surveyor-General expresses his regret that the Inspecting Engineer should have assumed that his letter of 3rd March/8th June last was intended to impugn the efficiency of the inspections made by that Officer.
