SANITARY BOARD ROOM,
Nors.-There is a slight difference between the death-rate shown in this summary, and that given in the Mortality Statistics issued by the Registrar General for the estimated population of the Colony. The difference arises from the circumstance that the estimated population for the Kau-lung district is given at 2,000 more than the Registrar General's estimate. reason for adding the 2,000 is given in a report on the sanitary condition of Kan-lung made in the early part of last year.
