Cambridge. W. Dameron is specially qualified by his two years' experience for the appointment; for in addition to his being a certificated Master, his University degree, his experience of the character of Chinese boys, and his knowledge of the Chinese language are special recommendations.

Mr. Jameson's previous engagement with the Wa Ying School, West Point, terminated a fortnight ago.

As therefore the school vacation expires on Thursday, I have the honour to beg for an early reply. I presume the appointment, if approved, will date from the 12th instant, the date of Mr. Arthur's transfer.

Having been informed that a vacancy has occurred on the staff of your department by the removal of Mr. W.H. Arthur to the Chief Clerkship in the Magistracy, I beg to offer myself as a candidate for the post.
