I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No.18228, informing me of the transfer of Mr. Arthur Hird, Head Master to the Magistracy.
In accordance with the instructions contained in the Statutory Order that all the masters below the Second Master should be styled for the future Assistant Masters, no promotion follows, but a vacancy occurs for an Assistant Master.
I have therefore the honour to enclose the required form reporting the vacancy; and at the same time to recommend the appointment of P. Milne Samson, M.A. of Peterhouse, Cambridge.
