44. The leave from 7th July 71 to 13 Feb. 72 is described as 19 months - the certificate has not been signed by the Acting Governor - and the medical certificates which specify ... are signed by one doctor only, not mentioning the subject.
Write to the Colony in the sense of the above minute & ask for pension papers of M. Grey: also whether he received 1st class or second class return passage. He applied for 1st but apparently was only entitled to 2nd.
If he will not lose a year's pension by having his service continued to the 5th of May, it would be simplest to date his pension from the 5th of Feb.
