His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has put these papers in my hands, with a request that I should append a Minute, stating what should be the upset price of the land, immediately adjoining the Eastern boundary of the Diocesan Home, in the event of its being sent to the hammer, in order to enable the Bishop to purchase.
As nobody would bid for this corner of ground by itself, the value of it (if sold by itself) would be nil, and rather than expose itself to the certainty of a failure if an auction is advertised, I would submit that Government present it to the Bishop for nothing.
