I then made a proposal to the Surveyor-General, for an exchange with another piece of ground, belonging to the Church Missionary Society but it came to nothing. Bishop Burdon then asked that the small piece of ground between the Diocesan Home and Bonham Road up to a line corresponding with the Northern Boundary of the premises of the Home, and marked ABB on the plan, should be put up to Auction.
5. The Surveyor-General, Jan'y 1887 reports that this piece of ground, measuring 12,957 square feet, is of no value to anyone except the proprietors of the Diocesan Home, as there is no other way to it than through the Home, owing to the steep declivity
