the fact that passage when paid for by me & my family in 1882 and I Suspector Rivers took in 1885. both these officers joined the service subsequently to myself but evidently under more favourable Conditions and ordinance

I beg to point out that during my long service of nineteen years I have been less expense to the Govt. than any other Police Suspector now in it. I did not cost the Govt Anything to bring me here, I have only drawn in 186?/2/ then Obtained a passage home and out in lieu of furlough to which I was entitled and have served another long term since then.

My family has never cost the Govt anything in the way of passage whilst other officers have had the passage of their wives & families paid for on more than one occasion I most respectfully beg that the Government will be good enough to reconsider their decision as given by Govt. order No 2 and grant me the passage in lieu of my lost bonus, which I will refund the same as other officers were allowed under similar circumstances

I have the honour to be

Sir

Your most obedient servant
