M. Ford draws $1440 as pay and $600 as personal allowance given him in 1880 in connexion with Free plantings. He also has free quarters.
His Salary is about large for he has been a very useful man: but at present we are refusing increases of pay in the colony on the ground of economy I think attention should be paid to this application.
