I am directed by Mr Thiselton Dyer to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated the 10th February 1886 forwarding a copy of application from Mr Charles Ford, of the Botanical Department at Hong Kong for increase of pay.
In reply I am instructed to inform you that Mr Dyer has formed a high opinion of Mr Ford's labours at Hong Kong and he would desire to endorse the record of service in Mr Ford's favour.
