The Director of the Foreign Office,

Count Berchem, in reply to its Note Verbale of 24th ulto. respecting the action of the Imperial Acting Consul

von Rollendorff in a suit reading before the English High Court at Hongkong, has the honour to inform H. E. Sir E. Malet that the report of the German official on the question

is not yet received, but in consequence

of the above mentioned note a report has been requested in case it should

not already have been sent. The Foreign Office cannot therefore give

a reply in

the matter till the report is received.
