I received from Mr Marsh, the officer administering the Government of Hongkong, complaining of the style of language employed by the Chinese Officials at Canton in communicating with the Director of the hospital, which seemed to imply that Hongkong was not part of Chinese Territory.
I enclose a copy of Mr Marsh's Despatch, dated 44.17.1886, and its inclosures.
I did not trouble YL. with a copy as it was voluminous.
