Hong Kong Water Works - Tytam Reservoir Works
Gentlemen,
I have duly received copy of Monthly returns of the progress and costs of the works at Tytam, as also for the Conduit on the Victoria side.
With respect to the costs of the Tunnel, I observe that these have been acting.
: Installation Costs.
Making a total of per lineal Yard £12 + 3 + £18 + 10 + C
This is however in excess of English rates. In a previous statement I gave English costs as under.
Liverpool Water Works Tunnel complete in hard rock, sectional area, £8.0.0 per lineal Yard.
Manchester Water Works Tunnels on hard rock. About 50 Square Metres on section complete.
In hard rock £10.0.0 per Yard. In rock requiring to be lined with brick or masonry set in Cement £14.0.0 per lineal Yard. These prices are for work complete. Contract with Hong Kong work consequently.
