I have laid before my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty your letter of the 19th Inst., transmitting a transcript of an Ordinance passed by the Legislature of Hong Kong forbidding the sale or conveyance on board Ship of any spirituous or fermented liquor.
My Lords desire me to request that you will inform the Secretary of State for the Colonies that they hear with pleasure that this Ordinance has been passed.
