On Friday (24th) between 11+12 o'clock the four of the tailors stooping down, and doing something in the corner, where the clothes were heaped. They were whispering; he looked and listened, they were angry with him, gave him abusive language, and told him to mind his own business. These men were No? 63, 47, 122, 196.

M.8 employed in tailors' shop, declared he knew nothing about it; was ordered to chain gang and returned and gave evidence as follows.

A few days ago, No. 34 managed to steal a blank cartridge out of store; he gave it to N: 63. I know about the slow match. It was thrown over the wall from Chancery Lane near the entrance to separate cell. N:34 had written for it. A prisoner on discharge took out the letter for him. N: 34 picked it up when it was thrown over, and brought it into the Tailors' shop. Don't know where he had it.

About noon on Friday (24th) the shavings were brought to the corner where the line was. N: 126 brought the shavings there. N: 34 read the line. N: 21 was looking on. N: 63 was there.

Note. N: 126 is employed stuffing mattresses and is in charge of the shavings used for this purpose.
