Sir,
In reply to your letter No. 388 of the instant, and stating that Dr Wharry reports himself unwell and unable to do the medico-legal work, I have the honour, by direction of the Officer Administering the Government, to inform you that, in accordance with your request the Military Authorities have been asked to delegate one of their medical officers to undertake the duties for the next few days.
A reply from the Assistant Military Secretary to the effect that it is impossible to lend the services of an Army Medical Officer at present has been received, and I am therefore to request you to inform Dr Wharry that, under the circumstances, His Excellency expects him to perform the medico-legal duties for the short time that Dr Marque will be absent.
