The only remark that I have to make thereon is that Dr Wharry was directed to perform the post mortem examinations during the temporary absence of Dr. Marques who was suffering from fever, 1 Ad and would, it was at first believed, have been able to resume his duties in a week or 10 days. Dr Wharry ought, therefore, I submit, to have obeyed in the first instance, the orders issued to him which did not entail any heavy work, and might have afterwards made any representations that he thought fit if he found the work too heavy, when it was ascertained that Dr Marques' illness was far more serious than was at first supposed. Dr Wharry applies for leave to retire on pension and I recommend that his application be granted. I forward herewith the usualper -ALA
