The medico-legal work will, in fact, be performed by Baltarques, except in special cases, when the Coroner may deem it necessary to designate Dr Wharry for that duty.
Dr Wharry will not be allowed private practice, and will continue to have charge of the Small-pox Hospital as well as the Civil Hospital.
I have to request you to communicate these instructions to Dr Wharry and Marques.

I have the honour to once again request His Excellency the Governor to insist upon Dr Wharry carrying out the instructions conveyed to him with regard to his medico-legal work.
On the 7th June 1883 I was furnished with a true copy of the instructions issued to Dr Wharry, amongst which was contained the following paragraph:
"The medico-legal work will, in fact, be performed by Baltarques, except in special cases when the Coroner deem it necessary to designate Dr Wharry for that duty."
