I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of yesterday, enclosing the Colonial Secretary's letter of the same date, concerning medico-legal duties.
In reply, I have the honour to inform you that, with every desire to meet the wishes of the Acting Governor on the subject, I am quite unable to undertake any further duties and responsibilities than I am already charged with.
