I enclose for your perusal a letter which I have just received from the Acting Colonial Secretary relative to the Medico-legal work of Dr Marques, during his illness. I will thank you to return it after perusal.
You will see therein, that owing to the difficulty in obtaining outside aid from the Army Medical Department, His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has requested you to perform the duties during the temporary illness of Dr Marques. I accordingly also enclose a query from the Police relative to a body lying in the Public Mortuary for examination, and will thank you to attend to it as is customary.
