accordingly allowed to retire from the Council room. Dr Wharry, who

was in attendance, was then admitted and said he had nothing further to add to what he had already written. In reply to questions, he stated

that he generally visited the Hospital at 9:30 am, and remained till 1 pm. That he

paid a second visit at an uncertain hour in the afternoon; generally a short visit. He could not give any definite information as to the number of times he was called up at night, although pressed on this point. All he would say positively was that he had not been called once at night during the preceding 7 days.
