been issued, "but the Officers, soldiers and detectives who effected the arrest certainly acquitted themselves with great credit; and the General considered it his duty to bestow extra reward upon them to stimulate exertion. When the offender in Feng-shui has been arrested, the reward will be handed over. Such
were
the General's instructions.
In accordance with these instructions
the prisoner Siu A-fing alias An Yii
was put to death
on the 28th of October at Kowloon in the presence of the death-warrant, and the extra reward of $100
was immediately handed
over and distributed among
the officer, soldiers, and detectives
as a stimulus to exertion.
I have therefore the honour to
report the date
of
the execution
of this member
of the Triad Society for Your
Excellency's information.
