On Sunday, over two week's ago, I was a passenger on board the Wing Shing launch from Victoria, I wanted to go to Hung Hom. There was a notice on board saying that it went to Hung Hom. It was about 5 pm when I went on board. At first, I wanted to board the "Kam Ling." When I was at the Kam Ling berth, I heard that it would not return to Hung Hom. Then I went to the Hung Shing. The Hung Shing started and went alongside the Kam Ling which had already started. He was alongside when about 70 yards from the shore. There were Portuguese on board the Wing Shing. I heard orders given to the Wing Shing to go alongside the Kam Ling. When we got alongside, about 10 foreigners, including myself, went on board the Kam Ling, leaving over 10 foreigners on the Wing Shing. The Kam Ling started. About a minute later, I saw a man jump overboard from the Kam Ling. I do not know whether he had come from the Wing Shing or not. We were about 70 yards from the Praya when the man jumped overboard. The steam launch went astern, a Ramsing boat picked the man up, came alongside the Kam Ling, and the Kam Ling pulled him up from the boat. I did not see the man go below. We then went over to the stone wharf at Kowloon City. Part of the wharf is stone, part is bamboo. I was down in the engine room, I did not see what happened.
